Started in 1987, The Geneva Group has excelled in producing cost effective solutions for businesses. We pride ourselves on the quality of the work we do, as we strive towards making sure our customers needs are meet.

The Geneva Group has at its core professionals that have capabilities ranging from database and network development to writing Windows and UNIX drivers for custom I/O cards. We currently also have on staff electrical engineers who develop custom embedded hardware and software for specialized tasks.

We specilize in three main areas of infomration systems and technology. These three areas include:

» Custom Software Development
This process is similar to building a new home. First you talk to the architect so he has an idea of what you want. Next he does some sketches to further hone in on exactly what is needed. Eventually there are detailed plans drawn up and a contractor begins work on the structure. We follow a similar process.

Our original interview and sales front end work is free as you would expect. If you decide to work with us, we will request a small purchase order to cover the cost of bringing our technical people to your site to go through a discovery and analysis process. We use this data to develop a high level design specification. We need to fully understand the problem to be solved and how it related to the other personnel and the other computer processed that will be affected. The high level design is similar to and architects basic floor plan and site elevation drawing. Once the customer has ok'd the specification we will present a fixed price bid to do the work itself. If you choose to go forward with the project, the analysis and high level design is included in the fixed price offer. If you decide not to go through with the project, you may keep the specification or use it as the basis for a RFP to be submitted to other vendors.

» Consulting and Coaching
Often times our customers are IT professionals in their own right. The do not need us to do the work. They already have a good handle on what needs to be done. They just need help getting started with a new system or technology. We do this work on a straight time and materials basis. Our rates range from $115 to $165 per hour depending upon the skill required.

» Network Administration Outsourcing
Setting up a network can be a tricky business when you consider that it touches everything in your organization. If it breaks due to a virus, a hardware failure, or improperly configured software, things can get very stressful in a hurry. Our staff maintains networks on a daily basis. They configure firewall and VPN services on a weekly basis. We keep a configuration notebook on each customer's site and can even configure a remote maintenance access port that you can activate anytime there is a problem. Often we can fix problems without actually going on site. That saves us time and you money.

We also practice preventive maintenance. If you change oil in your car every 3000 mile and make a practice of driving on the right hand side of the road, you car will last much longer and you will avoid many opportunities for accidents. We offer this service on either a retainer basis where we spend a fixed number of hours on your site every quarter and will solve all of the problems we can within that budget, or on an open Purchase order basis where you call us when you need us and we bill according to the hours you require.
